Doctors, Doctors Everywhere!

Wow- you never realize how much goes in to moving out of the country! Aside from the things you would typically think of- shipping stuff, selling stuff, packing stuff, etc- I never realized how many doctors I would have to see! In just 1 week, we have been to 3 different doctors (and we have a 4th to go to this afternoon). It all started with Lasik. I gave myself Lasik for my birthday. I wanted it for a few different reasons. 1. B/c I have had glasses/contacts since the 2nd grade and I thought it would be nice to live a life with good eyes, 2. I figure that if I am moving to where some of the most beautiful beaches are in the world, I want to be able to enjoy them and see them (i.e.- swimming w/out glasses), and 3. I wanted it done before I left while my Vision Plan still covered a portion of the service. It was AWESOME! I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it. And, I highly recommend Dr. Chin. So, that was Dr. #1. Dr. #2 came b/c of Billy. Before we got married Billy seemed to think that he could play basketball, and broke his nose multiple times. The result is a really messed up nose that he has lived with for quite some time now. It causes him to not be able to breathe out of one side of his nose, as well as some EXTREME sinus issues. So, he is finally having the surgery to fix that. It will happen over Spring Break. That brought in Dr. Divorkan (sp.-???) Also really great, and also something that we wanted to get done before we left. And that brings us to Dr. #3- our general physician- Dr. Munoz. ISKL and the Education Ministry of Malaysia require a physical of us before they will allow us to work in the country. So, we got that taken care of yesterday- most of it, at least. We still have to get blood work and chest X-rays. Hopefully, we can get that done ASAP. This afternoon, Billy has to have a CT scan in prep. for his upcoming surgery. So, we will meet another Dr. today! And, we still have vaccinations, general health stuff, etc. to get done before July. It is a bit overwhelming. Man- FBISD's insurance is sure getting a workout! :) Luckily ISKL pays us back all of our co-pays as long as we save our receipts. Yippee! After everything we went through last year, I thought that I was done seeing so many doctors so often, but I suppose I was wrong. However, I think all these doctors visits will yield a much more pleasant result! :)
