It's Been A Long Time!!!

Wow! Has it really already been 8 months since we moved here? Some days it feels like 8 years, but most of the time, it just seems to have gone by so fast. Things in our lives are as busy as usual, and we've had quite an exciting past few months. We apologize for not keeping up the blog a bit better- we always say we're going to take care of it, but never quite find the time. Well it's Spring Break, and we've got the time!

Here's a quick rundown of our adventures in 2010. We started off the year saying goodbye to Jaime's parents after an awesome visit with them where we spent Christmas in Thailand and New Years in KL. And they had barely boarded the plane when we had to pack up to go to an inservice in Hong Kong! We were just excited that our school was sending us to an inservice that wasn't at the Fort Bend Annex building! The inservice was great, but Hong Kong was AWESOME! Truly a great city with great people and the most stunning skyline of any city in the world. (Seriously, the Hong Kong skyline at night is breathtaking).

Just as we got off the plane from Hong Kong, we celebrated Chinese New Year by taking a weekend trip to Langkawi Island in Malaysia. The greatest thing about the trip is that not only were we celebrating a week off, but the Chinese (I should say Lunar- our Korean friends always correct us) New Year day feel on February 14th, so we spent Jaime's birthday lounging on the beach. Jaime was sick for most of the trip, but she still got plenty of rest and saw tons of European men in Speedos. Good times.

March was pretty uneventful- just work, work, and more work. I guess we can't be lucky and travel all the time! We do have to pay the bills! However, we did hop on a plane the last day of March and head to beautiful Seoul, Korea to visit the city and our great friend Damon. We spent nearly 5 days learning taxicab Korean, seeing the DMZ (De-Militarized Zone- the North/South Korea Border) and eating tons of great food. Would you believe that in addition to great Korean Food, Korea also has the worlds greatest pancakes and french toast? They do!

Anyway, it's back to the daily grind next week for the rest of the month, with Billy going on the Middle School Malaysia week trip in a couple of weeks. Then it's a rush through May and we're done with this year! One year in the books! We're planning on celebrating by taking a trip to Beijing to see the Great Wall and then lounging on the beach with some friends before heading home in July! Hope to see everyone then!
